Bomb Jacke: A Review

Controls:

• GamePad Compatibility: MFI, Xbox, PS
• Gamepad or Stick: Move Bomb Jacke; trigger A to jump.
• Touch Screen Controls:
  • Left Hand: Move Bomb Jacke left or right (Virtual Joystick).
  • Right Hand: Jump by tapping; hold for larger jumps. While jumping, tap to glide.

The Game:

In Bomb Jacke, players take on the role of a formidable superhero mouse capable of leaping and gliding through diverse landscapes. The objective is to locate and collect 24 bombs scattered throughout various levels. Each level presents a unique arrangement of platforms that Bomb Jacke can interact with, and these levels become increasingly challenging upon replay.

To defuse a bomb, Bomb Jacke must simply touch it, prompting a sequence where additional bombs' fuses ignite sequentially. Players earn bonuses by touching 20 or more bombs in the correct order. While unlit bombs may also be defused through contact, doing so forfeits the opportunity for bonus scoring and delays the arrival of other game bonuses and power-ups. Importantly, unattended lit bombs do not explode; their sole purpose lies in the bonus feature.

The player retains control over Bomb Jacke as he seeks to defuse all bombs on each stage before advancing. Throughout his journey, various enemies lurk, aiming to impede progress. Contact with any enemy results in a loss of life for Bomb Jacke. There is no time constraint, allowing players to strategize at their own pace; however, prolonged delays may lead to being overwhelmed by enemies.

Gathering a Power Coin (P) transforms enemies into collectible coins for a limited time. Extra lives can be earned by accumulating specific coin totals during gameplay.

Bonus Features:

• Power Coin (P): Earned after filling the Bonus Multiplier meter (20 segments), defusing unlit bombs increases by 1 and lit bombs by 2.
• Bonus Coin (B): Awarded every time the score reaches multiples of 5,000 until the Bonus Multiplier maxes out at x5 per level.
• Extra Coin (E): Gained by converting enough enemies into coins while also reaching score multiples of 50,000.

This engaging adventure invites players to test their reflexes and strategy while navigating through challenges and rewards alike.
